21,21,21,21,21,21,21!!!!!!!! Im 21 this year! This post is dedicated to those who have made MY 21th Birthday SPECIAL!!!!!! Hahaha... Let me recap and see... hhmmm... Thanks to my mum, dad, bro and cousin, Yegnese for being a big part of it. My dad got me a ring! My mum got me a Cross chain, then i ate the best chocolate cake on my birthday ( So tempting coz its called "chocolate temptation") seriously chocolaty! I came down with fever after only having a piece! Haha... But it is all worth! Didnt do much, but really enjoyed myself! My bro wanted to take me out for a movie, go makan-makan ,but i was having an headache.So really not in the mood!
On the 3rd of July few day after my birthday, i went for cellgroup or in Acts church''s language its called "HOMES". Took the KTM to Subang Jaya, then Ronson came to pick me and Elisha up. He drove to Samantha's house, pick her up and drove to Serdang! We usually have Cellgroup at Jacob Paul's place ( who i call Jacobpe and he calls me Stephe just for fun ) I remember Sam and Elisha rushing into the house, leaving me and Ronson outside taking off our shoes. So i took off my shoes and went in slowly, suddenly heard Ronson calling me from outside asking me to bring in his bible and car key if im not mistaken because he was on the phone and taking off his shoes at the same time. While i was taking the bible from him, holding my bible and Sam's at the same time, i heard someone singing "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" from the back. I was not sure what was happening at that moment, but i was definitely very very blur! Haha. When i looked to the front, i saw Jessica holding a beautiful cake, and others singing happy birthday to me. i was shocked and overwhelmed at the same time. Almost cried but controlled myself. Jessica came closer to me and i spoilt the moment by saying "WHAT SHOULD I DO?". I seriously was soooo blur! Then i blew the candles and Samantha asked me to cut the cake! I placed all the bibles i was holding on the table and cut the cake cautiously. The cake was SOOOOO SOFT! I worry i might destroy it! I remember Elisha complimenting the way i cut the cake. she said its soo neat!!! Then Samantha said the same thing. They actually said, never seen a cake that is cut soo neatly.I was thinking in my mind, don't destroy the cake, don't destroy the cake! But have to admit it was really hard to cut the cake. There were fruits, and almonds all over. I really took my time in cutting that one piece of CAKE!!!!
Ronson only finish talking on the phone after that, and he ask if we can do the whole thing all over again because he missed the singing and the cutting cake part. Hahaha. Then i went to Elisha and gave her a hug. I said THANK YOU. Elisha told me that Samantha is the one who planned everything. I went to Samantha and gave her a big long hug. I really sayang her. She is not only my mentor, but also an amazing person. She gave me a present. I was really touched. I gave Jessica a hug too. Ronson, Jacob, Jesmond and Sebastian was there too. Then Samantha took the task of cutting the cakes for all and i transformed into a photographer and started taking pictures. I remember asking Samantha to pose with the cake, she said "nonsense la you!". I don't know i always get that from her! Maybe because i always do or say stupid things around her. Just for fun actually. Then i took picture with all of them. Ronson actually said " i need a chair!" And i was wondering what he meant. Then i realize he was calling me short! Im not short, only not as tall as him! But we took picture eventually, without the chair! After eating the cake, and many more things that Samantha brought, we then started our cellgroup. And i did communion and remember accidentally placing my bible on the cake's cream! Elisha and Samantha actually helped cleaning my bible. So sweet of them! Elder Ken Yiak came visiting, we had a great cell group, then went back to Subang Jaya.
On the way, we stopped to makan at one of the chinese shops in Subang. Only 4 of us. Ronson, Samantha, Elisha and me. Ronson and Elisha ordered some soupy mee stuff. Im not sure what that was. Pan mee if im not mistaken. Ronson was so amazed with the way the lady made the mee that he decided to order that! what a reason to order food. but i had to admit, the way the lady transforms dough into thin strings of noodles is facinating! But not facinating enough for me to wana eat it. Hahaha. I eventually ordered "chinese carrot cake" and Samantha didn't want to eat. I was stuffing myself with my food and i felt as though the food was not decreasing at all! and i ordered the SMALL PLATE! I took so long to finish eating half of it. In the end i surrendered! Samantha just looked at me, and she said " finish your food la Steph, dont waste". I told her i was too full. Then Samantha ask me to finish my food again. I was soo full, but still the way Samantha asked me just melted my heart. I cant say "no" to her. Haha. I don't know why. Maybe because i have too much respect and love for her. So i started forcing myself to eat. And so sweet of Sam, she helped me to makan also. I told her i don't like beansprout (who puts beansprout in carrot cake anyway?!) She even ate all the beansprout for me ( i hate bean sprout, taste and smells weird). At last mission accomplished! i finish the food and i almost vomited then i was chewing the last piece of carrot cake in my mouth! Literally! I dropped few chunks of carrot cake here and there( u might think by purpose, but it was an honest mistake :P) Not very good in using chopsticks, but too stubborn to use a spoon. Then Ronson drove us back.
Elisha and i stayed over at Samantha's place that night. Samantha was doing some mopping here and there. By the time she was done, it was already 2 in the morning! Sam usually sleeps downstairs with me whenever i come over. The last time i tried sleeping in her room, i end up runnig downstairs 3 in the morning coz i couldnt breathe. But that night i slept downstairs with Elisha. Around 2 am i was chatting with Elisha, she was sleepy and i was not! As usual i was still active and energetic at that moment. Elisha said i have an active brain and that is why i cant sleep, which is true! I would have to force myself to stop thinking so that i could go to sleep! Then Samantha came downstairs to switch off the lights, I asked her " hey Sam, are you gonna sleep now?" She said, "no lah, you wana come upstairs?" So i went upstairs to her room and we just chatted. I have so much of respect for her. I really don't know where did she find the time in the world to do whatever she is doing! To maintain the spirit of childishness and maturity at the same time, to be involved in every single thing she likes and giving her very best to the LORD! To be 22 years old, and still setting such a great example to everyone of her age, older and younger! I really praise God for placing her in my life! I only went to sleep around 5am! I was chatting with her till 3.30 am and then continue praying till 5am! I needed an answer from God, so i just prayed. And gladly to say, God answered!!! Actually i can keep on talking to Sam till 6am, but poor Sam! She already look so sleepy. so i just needed to stop!
She did come downstairs to get something around 3.40am. She told me there is a note for me in the gift she bought me. i told her i haven't open the gift yet. I got excited and ask her "SHOULD I OPEN IT NOW?" (it was 3.45 in the morning at that moment) Sam said " Go sleep la u!" She got a point. Haha. Then i fell a sleep at 5am! Elisha was already sleeping soundly by that time! Overall it was a good day. I thank God for all the amazing things God did for me through all these wonderful people. I would like to thank Samantha Yeoh, Elisha Menon, Janaronson, Jessica Wong, Jacob and Jesmond Paul and Sabastian for the wonderful birthday suprise. I really appreciate it guys!
p/s - Sam got me a diary to write down my journey of being 21! How toughtful was that!!! And there was a sweet note written for me on the back page of the diary! That made the diary much more meaningful to me. Thanks Sam!!!!
